Day 4 Final Day

I must say that I am so proud of the hard work put in by these amazing young people that went on this service trip with Mr Williamson and myself. The work that they did, how hard that they worked, the energy that they brought, the laughter that we all shared, and the fun, made the last 4 days very memorable for me personally and I pray for them as well. This last day we took on the big task of putting primer on three rooms that were very brightly colored that were going to be painted. Then there was also the really big task of moving trash and old items out of the storage rooms upstairs into a trash pile to get ready to taken to the dumps... Lots of moving parts but all in all, a very productive day! Lots of laughter and fun though was shared in the midst of all the hard work!

Day 3 - lots of cleaning and moving around!

Wednesday was full of cleaning out more stuff and cleaning! Students had the opportunity to weed, clean out a sandbox, scrub some walls, move lots and lots of books and book cases, and clean some more! And they did it all! Loving serving with them!

Day 2 accomplished

We started out the daywith paint brushes in hand as we tackled painting the wrought iron fence around the playstructure area out front of the church. We also painted the playstructure metal pieces, changing them from a funky blue to a nice new black. What a difference a coat of paint makes to liven up the front of the church! So proud of all the hard work of these kids and the service that they are doing for the community!

Day 1 in the books!

Day 1 was a day filled with a lot of hard work by everyone! The church had a black wrought iron fence around it that the students worked hard on to take down. There was also a sand pit area that we are working on cleaning out for the preschool play area. They also worked hard moving out old furniture, stripping the walls, and cleaning them, so that the rooms can be prepped for painting in the fellowship hall and common areas of the church. The Church is over 60 years old and is in need of much love and repairs, so it is rewarding getting to see the transformations take place even though they may still be small things that have only happened in one day!
